You know, I'm really torn between Vox and Livejournal. Vox has a lot of really neat toys and great features, but LJ has my past five or six years of dedicated use and archives. *sigh* Decisions, decisions. Anywho, I'm really...

As much as I hated to leave my old job, I hate myself even more for not doing it sooner. My last paycheck was a little short, and I thought it was a simple accounting error. I didn't think much...

I have resigned from my position as a Network Administrator, and will be starting a new job on Monday, the 29th. I wish my former employers the best in their future endeavors.

I am no longer head of the booking committee for the West Virginia Wrestling Alliance, but I will retain my corporate position for the life of the current LLC contract.

All of the websites I personally administer, (ryanspade.com, defectivecomics.com, theringbell.com, and gotbuzzed.net) are in the process of being transferred to a new hosting provider, and will be back up and running in the near future, March 1st at the latest.

I hear by officially withdraw my candidacy for President of the United States, and announce my full support for the campaign of Mr. Christopher Walken. http://www.walken2008.com/

As I drove off to work this morning, a smile reached across my face as I I drove down the highway. I joyfully watched the snow blow off the roof of my car in the review mirror, somehow comforted by the cold.

That smile quickly disapeared, as I looked around, and noticed all the green grass around me, along side the road. When I got out of the car, I sighed a depressing groan, as I noticed the roof of my car. It wasn't snow that was scattering about behind my car. I had been watching the last of my cars paint fly off as I drove down the road.

So I've been doing fairly well so far in the "Photo A Day project" until now, where I noticed a major flaw in my plan. I've been taking a lot of shots with my film camera, but I'm not keeping track of when I'm taking what shots, and under what settings, etc. Not mention in the time it takes to get the roll finished and developed, we're way off on the time scale. I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, let alone what pictures I was taking a week or two ago.

Other than a notebook stuffed in my already overly full camera bag, does anyone have any ideas on how to keep track of these things?

I'm out of shape. I've been using the "sympathy weight" excuse for too long. The only way I'm going to become a better athlete is to get off my ass. With a kid on the way, working 40+ hours a week, and with classes starting back up, this isn't going to be easy. At all.

So, to go along with my 101 things in 1001 days, I'm starting my workout journal today.

My rough plan is:
Sunday - HIT
Monday - Class (Rest)
Tuesday - Treadmill
Wednesday - Class (rest)
Thursday - HIT
Friday - Yoga
Saturday - Cardio

Fridays will be light, just some stretching exercises to help increase flexibility, and maybe a few abdominal strength things like the swiss ball. I'll be switching cardio and Sunday's HIT depending on what day I'm wrestling. I don't want to be doing my High Intensity work on a day where I'll need that energy in the ring at night. Some light cardio will likely be beneficial though.

I've also started my food diary, but I want to take the first week or two not so seriously, as I toy with some of the recipes I've been given, to snip a few extra calories and add some more fiber here and there.

I read Slashdot almost daily. Not so much for the articles, but for the discussion that usually accompanies the articles. They tend to be much more in-depth than any news article out there, and are always insightful, if not amusing. Granted, they usually drop into either PHD master thesis level technical discussion, or an all out flame war before it's all said and done, but I can deal with that.

Recently, the entire works of Mozart was made available for download online, by the International Mozart Foundation, and of course, this hit Slashdots radar.

Here's a snippet from the conversation...

Can you download the music files also? If so, where are the links?

Where does the time go? I can hardly keep track of what day it is, let alone enough to where I can keep a journal. I'm not even technically a Dad yet, and I'm already going crazy over this whole ordeal.

I finished up the semester, squeeking by with a B for the year. That puts me just one class away from my CCNA, the first Cisco Networking certficiate. I hope to take that test this time next year. Hopefully before then I'll be able to sneak in my Network+, just to get back into the frame of mind for all this testing. I'm also on track to get an AAS degree in either December of 07 or Spring of 08, depending on how many classes I can squeeze in next semester.

I made a less than triumphant return to the wrestling world, working a match for Black Diamond Wrestling up near Wheeling. I got my brains scrambled a bit, and thought I disloated my jaw again. Turns out it's not, it's just swollen. It had been about a year and half since the last time I was up there. It was odd to be cheered by that crowd this time around. I kinda liked it.

I managed to knock a couple items off my 101 things to do list, so I at least have some feeling of acomplishment. I really need to get moving on the movies list though, I haven't even been able to find copies of a lot of them. The movies from the 20's, 30's and 40's might be the death of me. I'll have to find out if their copyrights have expired, and download them from somwhere. Anyone out there have any ideas?

I've also been bitten by the shutterbug again. I've been carying around my camera with me quite a bit. I signed on for a "photo a day" experament, so I'm getting an early jump on that. Relearning how to use all the features on my camera has been more of a challenge than I thought it would be.

I don't normally rant like this, but is anyone else confused by the current TNA bookings? Is it just me, or has "The Monster" Abyss been totally destroyed? Tapping out to Kurt Angle just before getting an NWA World Title shot? Then, "winning" the match on a DQ? It should have been Abyss loosing by DQ, because he wouldn't stop punishing his opponent, not the other way around. Sure, he's the champion, but doesn't he look pretty weak now? Especially considering the way he mowed everyone over in the "tournament" to get the title shot.

Some monster...
